Eden woman popped for growing weed

Eden - Yesterday morning at about 9:15, Deputy Maggie Barker went to 108 Apartment 5, Stoneybrook in Eden to serve civil eviction papers. While posting the “Notice of Eviction” on a sliding glass door, she observed 5 marijuana plants sitting in front of the sliding glass door and in plain view, just inside the residence.

The plants were young, but were in violation of North Carolina Controlled Substance law. Patricia Hairston Coleman, 54, of that address was arrested and charged with Manufacture Schedule VI a Controlled Substance. She received a $5,000 bond and her court date is September 5, 2007.
